Forefathers’ Eve is the most important play in Polish literature which combines universal values of European Romanticism with particular traditions of this part of Europe which used to be part of Polish land. This play was never staged fully for many reasons: political, aesthetical, theatrical, etc. This time Michał Zadara decides to present a full version of it giving a spectacular production divided into three parts which will be shown year by year till 2016. It gives an opportunity to look behind an identity of Central Europe and its people. It is more about us today than about them living in 19th century.

Reviews

Zadara was able to "charm away" a play, which appears in his version as a funny, universal and not bombastic one’ [...].
Zadara decided to prepare a challenging work in the time of a culture of impulses described long ago by Marshall McLuhan. [...] The production is outstanding, and Bartosz Porczyk who plays a character of Gustaw, should be awarded, and for sure he will be, with as many prizes as possible.
